The bustling inner cities of Utrecht and Amersfoort are half an hour's drive away. And a visit to the pandas in Ouwehands Dierenpark in Rhenen is also a great option for a lovely day out.

Henschotermeer, a paradise in the summer

On summer days, the Henschotermeer lake is a great place to swim, sunbathe and play. This lake is surrounded by a beautiful white sandy beach and the bottom slopes gradually. This means you can also enjoy playing and splashing around at the water's edge with young children. If you have a good appetite, get an ice cream or snack at the beach bar or one of the food trucks. /> The park also has a lovely indoor swimming pool. You can race down the slide or have fun with the climbing equipment at this leisure pool. Fun in the water is guaranteed!

A play paradise for the children

People of all ages will love to play outdoors at EuroParcs De Utrechtse Heuvelrug. There is always some playground equipment close by and the children will have a great time in the playground and sports fields. If you still want to do more, go into the woods and build your own shelter. /> The enthusiastic entertainment team organises fun children's activities. The Kids Club can accommodate little ones from the age of four. Children from eight years old can have fun in the forest with the 'Adventure Club'. The 'Fun Club' organises fun theme weekends and evenings for the whole family: from Oktoberfest to Thomas the Tank Engine. Feeling hungry after all the activities? Find a seat in the restaurant for a delicious à la carte meal. Or keep it simple and get a large bag of fries at the snack bar.

Glamping accommodation

Sheep watching or shopping

There are also fun activities and routes for young explorers, such as the Heidestein Sheep Route in Zeist or the Nature Facts Walk in the Amerongse Bos. Or observe some animals on a larger scale and visit Ouwehands Zoo in Rhenen (32 km) or Amersfoort Zoo (13 km). You can also drive to the lively city of Utrecht in about half an hour, and here you can do some shopping or visit the Railway Museum or the Nijntje (Miffy) Museum.
