Camping close to Europe's Grand Canyon
RCN Les Collines de Castellane is a comfortable terraced campsite located on a slope near the Gorges du Verdon, Europe's Grand Canyon. Thanks to its fantastic location between the French Alps and the Côte d'Azur, you can go in all directions for interesting, fun and adventurous day trips. Provence with all its romantic charms, culinary highlights, scents, colours, flavours and 'joie de vivre', but also the rugged mountain landscape that guarantees an active camping holiday.
Swimming pool and outdoor paradise
RCN Les Collines de Castellane campsite has a swimming paradise with a waterfall and a triple water slide. And if you're camping in this part of France, outdoor sports are probably high on your list. For example, there is a wonderful climbing course in the Adventure Park, where you can complete the route under professional supervision. There is also a sensational course with five different zip lines across the slides of the swimming pool, the tennis court, through the forest and the longest of more than 160 metres, right across the football pitch!
Furthermore, there is open-air fitness, all kinds of sports fields and play equipment. The surrounding area offers many sporting challenges. Think of paintball, survival, canoeing, rafting, canyoning, horseback riding, paragliding and archery. Hiking, cycling and mountain biking are possible everywhere.
Everything is available
When it comes to food and drink, you will not be short of anything either. Everything is available: a restaurant with terrace, bar, snack bar and a pizza corner. A small shop has some basic groceries, but a large supermarket can be found 7 kilometres away. Especially for children, a culinary workshop takes place every week in high season. Another fun activity is Fun2Dance, where as many children as possible go crazy dancing. Or make something beautiful for mum and dad at the crafts club.
Plenty of choice in a beautiful part of France
Explore the area and walk through beautiful old villages and historic cities, visit colourful markets with local specialities, drive through hilly lavender fields, go down into a gorge, take a pedal boat or ride in a steam train. Besides the impressive Gorges du Verdon, don't forget the Gorges de Cians and the Gorges de Daluis. Very beautiful! Or the waterfall Sillans La Cascade, the Roc de Castellane, an absolute must, the Citroën museum just outside Castellane, the perfume museum in Grasse and do you want to reach the fashionable coast of the Côte d'Azur, after just over an hour you are in Monaco, Nice, Cannes and Saint-Tropez.
